Patricia St.Onge (Six Nations) is a partner in Seven Generations Consulting Company, providing coaching, training, consulting, and technical assistance in the areas of community organizing, social change advocacy, organizational development, cross-cultural effectiveness, consensus building and executive, spiritual, and personal coaching. Seven Generations works with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, foundations, academic institutions, congregations, and communities.
The name Seven Generations comes from the Six Nations tradition that reminds us that we honor the generations who have come before us and make decisions that are mindful of their impact on seven generations to come.
St.Onge is the former director of education and training and current affiliate consultant at the National Community Development Institute, a technical assistance intermediary working in grassroots communities of color. She has served as executive director of several nonprofit agencies, including Habitat for Humanity at affiliates in Boston, Oakland, and San Francisco before becoming western regional director. She serves on several community boards. St.Onge also performs ceremonies and rituals. St.Onge has a degree in human services from Southern New Hampshire University and a master of divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion. She has completed the course work for co-active coaching and is certified in spiritual direction from the Chaplaincy Institute for Arts and Interfaith Ministries. She is of Six Nations (Mohawk) and Quebecois descent. She reads, writes, and makes jewelry. Between them, she and her life partner, Wilson Riles, have six daughters and seven grandchildren. |
